 Design Cleaner - Deep Search (New! Version 11.65)

Deep Search option has been added to Design Cleaner. In this mode Design Cleaner uses deep analysis algorithm allowing to select the best possible trajectory for cleaning design layers.

Synthesis --> Design Cleaner (Deep Cleaner Search box must be enabled)

Example. Designing a beamsplitter:

  • Spectral range from 620 nm to 680 nm;
  • Rs=Rp=50%;
  • AOI=450;
  • Thin film materials - Nb2O5/SiO2.

A 35-layer design can be easily obtained with the help of the Needle Optimization Technique (see Rp/Rs and refractive index profile on the right pane).

The design contains several thin layers. Design Cleaner helps you to reduce the number of layers keeping the excellent spectral performance.

After application of the Design Cleaner (Deep Search) a 23-layer design has been obtained. Excellent spectral performance is observed. beamsplitter reflectance

The thinnest layer has thickness of 50 nm. On the other hand, there are two too thick layers (layers 4 and 9).refractive index profile

After reducing thicknesses of 4th and 9th layers and subsequent refinement, one can obtain a 23-layer beamsplitter

A production friendly design has been obtained: layer thicknesses are from 50 nm to 220 nm; spectral performance is excellent.
